Just remember that it installs off a CD ROM drive so I hope you have one.

I did install OS3.9 (or was it OS3.5?) onto an A3000 over a serial cable using the CD ROM drive on a PC and the Siamese v2.5 software.  Mind you, it took forever...

Still get the Subway though for other things.  I use a FAT formatted 8GB memory stick for transferring things back and forth quickly from my PC.  For example, I saved a lot of time downloading KG's WHDLoad games packages on my PC and then extracting them using Amiga Forever.  I then copied the extracted files to the memory stick, plugged it into my Miggy and copied the files onto the hard drive.  I also use a cheap USB Ethernet adapter to get online (does OK on the Deneb, not sure how the Subway will perform).

Gotcha.

I'll look into the options. Im a bit hesitant to chop up the case too much :)

A "round" IDE cable should let you attach one end to a 4xIDE card and feed it out through the removeable plate on the back of the A1200.

Isnt that easier and cheaper done by using a pcmcia compact flash card reader/writer?

They cost like 2 pounds and do the job perfectly on my a1200 and a600.

Ah, but a good 8GB memory stick is all you need for your Amiga/PC/Mac needs at home or at work and is harder to lose or break than carrying around a CF card or SD card.  Besides, the CF Card I keep in my A4000 is SFS formatted and that just comes up as bollocks on a PC.

Good point. Although personally im done spending money on my A1200 and after i sold its accelerator board i dont even use it anymore.

I do however use my A4000T nearly every day, so i may consider getting a Deneb or subway :)

There's no way I would use my A4000 without a Deneb now.  It also makes reinstalling a breeze as I keep all of my ZIP/LHA archives on memory sticks so if I need to reinstall from scratch I can do a base 3.1 install, install the Deneb drivers and then unpack files from the Memory stick to my hard drive.  Sure, I could keep a 2nd hard drive too, but file swapping is now so easy.  I also use it for that USB Ethernet card, a USB-IDE cable, USB PC 1.44 Floppy, a SD card reader (for my camera) and an external DVD+R/W.  I also need to check how well the HP USB printer drivers work (I haven't had time yet).
