That A4000Di Mediator is a tempting upgrade.

Does anyone know if it will give a significant improvement in my system using a Radion card over my Cybervision 643D?

Off the top of my head I can't think of any other PCI cards I'd add as I have a Deneb installed for USB 2.0 and native Amiga sound is OK with me.

@ Lorraine:

Yeah, I was thinking that it was probably not worth the effort unless some new drivers come along for additional devices.

I guess it would have been if I didn't already have the Cybervision card.  I use RTG screens for web surfing and the existing card does a good job.

I thought I'd check to see if the ROM upgrade for my FastATA4000 might have had free shipping, but they've stopped the upgrade completely.

Oh well, that's another $50 they're not getting.

@ Crumb:

Thanks for that.  I decided to use the money and upgrade my CPU card to a 40MHz 68040 with 64MB RAM instead.   :-)

I know what you mean.  I cancelled my order once I saw that BS shipping price!  There was no way I was going to give Elbox nearly $80 to upgrade a product I had bought new just a couple of months previously.

It's amazing that they can mail a big, heavy mediator for free, but can't send loyal customers a couple of ROM chips without demanding 3 chickens, a goat and their first born son.   :madashell:

I don't have a problem with their prices.

The FastATA4000 may be double the price of the Buddha, but it's a superior piece of hardware for Zorro 3 users (althought the Buddha is perfect for A2000 owners).  What gets me is that the ROMs alone would cost me around $80 when a new card would be $120!

Again, cost wise, a Mediator with a 10/100 card and a Radion would be far cheaper than adding a Zorro based graphics card and Ethernet.

They make great hardware (and I have several of their products), but I have to question the way they operate at times.
