I would love to try this on my real 1200 BUT i didnt see any install info on the site about loading directly onto a real 1200 without using an emulator :-?

Yeah, I looked at it to install it on an Amiga 4000, but while there seems to be "instrcutions" for installing it on classic AGA machines, the instructions consist of formatting your hard drive using the install disk and copying a large compressed file to your boot drive.  There has to be a hell of a lot more to it than that, because that isn't going to work.

I used OS3.9 instead.

AmigaSYS 4 AGA he did not appear yet. (soon)

Use it in the right side menu on the official web page (Amiga button), more infos, install, hw req, etc.

AmigaSYS 3 AGA to real Amiga 1200/4000 machines who can be reached since 2007 already, downloadable.

I saw that, but the install explaination is as follows:

Quote
BOOTABLE PARTITION:

Amiga:

Put the Install 3.0/3.1 disk into the DF0: drive and when the disk loaded, start HDTOOLBOX (INSTALL:HDTOOLS/HDTOOLBOX). Check, wich is the bootable partition, format it and copy the AmigaSYS to there.

You can make partitions with the program. If you want to use another partition for the operatong of AmigaSYS then, you only have to uncheck the BOOTABLE option, and check it on another partition. This is useful, when you want to keep your current system.

The file you end up downloading consists of a file for running on UAE and a HDF file, both of which are of no use for installing on a stock classic machine without using a PC.

Either I'm missing the correct place to download a classic only install file, or there isn't an easy way to get this onto classic machines (which is a shame because it looks great).

What the classic needs is a simple LHA archive which can be unpacked on the Amiga and then copied over a OS3.x installation.

You did not look round on the web page :)

WinUAE HDF does not exist only. HDF and LZX are downloadable. It true the description WinUAE version presents it. But it LZX for the advanced users recommended.

Download section:

AmigaSYS 3 Plus AGA Amiga 1200/4000 for Begginers HDF
AmigaSYS 3 Plus AGA Amiga 1200/4000 for Advanced users LHA

LHA=LZX :) Write mistake :)

Ah cheers!  I did download that LZX version, but my PC wanted nothing to do with it and when I searched for something on the PC side to unarchive it so I could simply put the files on a memory stick and pass it to the Amiga via the Deneb card then all I found were software packages that needed purchasing/registering.

Please make the next one an LHA archive and I look forward to trying it.  Like I said, the screen shots look great and had me drooling.  :-)
