I still have a amiga 500 (1.3 with 1mb ram total) and a a1200 (3.0 with 40gb HD from amigakit.com).

i repaired these 2 amiga's with parts from amigakit.com and also have a pcmcia transferkit to put ADF files back onto floppy DD disks (880kb disks)and i have alot of adf files. also ordered from amigakit.com. also have the original cloanto package.

now i live in a student house with 40 people here and we always play old games in our living room on the amiga 500.. alot of oldskool fun.. some games are really impressive when it comes to graphics.. it may not have the best 3d games.. but  when it comes to 2d graphics like platform games etc. these games are just timeless even in 2007.. not to mention the OS itself a workbench i believe its only 256 or 512kb in kickstart rom 1.3 (a whole 512kb OS).. compare that to windows vista nowadays lol.. 512kb amiga <-> 4gb windows :P where is the world going to?

i can only tell.. amiga is timeless.. some people here who used to own a sega megadrive in the past are impressed by an amiga 500 (they have never played on it untill i showed them)

question is : what if commodore would never go bankrupt and they continuing developing the AAA chipset and keep developing untill today :) would it be better then the mac/windows world we know today :D but i will just keep on dreaming as this will never happen.

check on ebay for a500HD.. sometimes amigakit get some old parts. last time they had a internal floppy drive for the a1200 desktop on stock for a while.

i bought an a500 internal floppy drive from ebay (as a backup drive) and 2 external floppy drives for the a500.. somehow they refuse to work on my a1200 tho.. not sure whats wrong on my a1200.
