newbie musician needs tips

Dear Friends:

I have been non-musical all of my life.
I recently started learning the keyboard.
One of my goals is to create amiga music.
I have octamed and deluxe music construction set.
I would love to make music like the ones produced by Rob Hubbard
for the commodore 64.
Any tips for newbie amiga/musician ?
