Well, if you compare to those Suns or general PCs you get for free, I prefer Pi because its low (close to nil) power consumption and noise free operation. I don't feel bad having it running 24/7
And it's enough for my server needs... although you have to make compromises and restrict writes, but I'm happy to run it for web/file/irc server. And as a bonus it shows movies nicely.
