If you're using MorphOS, why on earth you wouldn't use included ShowGirls software? It's just the best and fastest software for these kinds of convertions and editing. Free, already installed and compatible too . You can select resizing filter (for example Lanczos does good quality) and do batch converts etc.

When I hit Save, I can choose the format, and I suppose I just change the extension when saving, but when I choose Save As, I don't get to select the format.

Hmm... You have the format list in the Save Image window. It just saves in the selected format with both Save and Save As buttons. As usual (with Amiga), the file extension doesn't matter.

Is the author of Show Girls still working on this?

I guess so, but I think it's more about if he needs certain function or somebody begs for something enough Anyway, author is very familiar for all demosceners here.. he's kiero/MaWi.. you can find him on IRC too

btw. there's Picasa Web Album manager for ShowGirls too... it's available there
