"Hello world"
« on: March 13, 2007, 08:09:58 PM »
Hi all, just thought I'd better say hello and tell you a bit about myself now that i've signed up...

I'm 29, based in the highlands of Scotland and spend my time assisting and teaching kids who have never heard of any computer other than a PC and think all operating systems come from microsoft !

I was an Amiga fanatic from 1992 to 2001, being a typical Amigan I enjoyed gaming, video work, programming, dabbling in graphics and all things creative.

I finished my software engineering course at uni using only my miggy and refusing to use the uni PC's unless I REALLY had to - but soon after buying my PPC card and being dissapointed with the warp / powerpc split and weekly announcements of new owners / new OS's etc I was lured away by halflife and counterstrike on the PC and that was that.

Not really touched my miggy since then untill recently, when I decided I wanted to "finish" my 1200T and started looking on ebay for a bvision (and suddenly found myself spending far too much on tons of little bits I couldnt' afford first time round as a poor student...) so I'm more than a tad rusty in "the way of the Boing".

I now work in IT support & training at a college in the north of Scotland, and I guess the intervening years of PC based work must have made me pine for the Amiga way of doing things.

Was glad to find there's still an Amiga community online and have found a lot of the advice and discussions on this forum very usefull in choosing the right kit to get ahold of, so thanks to you all !

Fuji

If you're name is an El Hazard reference then you're alright with me

well spotted, the name was thrust upon me by my mates after they watched the first couple of episodes due to me working in education, doing lots of mountain type stuff, smoking like a chimney (at the time) and the fact I used to get magical gaming "kungfu" skills once my hangovers wore off. :-D
