How to configure Dopus Magellan as Workbench Replacement?
« on: November 03, 2010, 07:43:37 AM »
I installed Opus Magellan some years ago in non workbench replacement mode and, as far as I know, it is loaded by calling the program "opus5_startup" which is placed in WBstartup drawer just after Workbench itself has loaded.

I would like to know if it would be possible to run it in workbench replacement mode without having to reinstall Dopus. Is it possible? What do I need to set up?

Thanks in advance,

beltrixx.

Thanks everybody for your replies.

First of all I'll try to find the loadwb executable in DopusCD and will give it a try keeping the actual Dopus5 assigns at user-startup and removing opus5_startup from WBStartup drawer. In case I don't have success, I'll try to change OPus 5 behaviour by using the official installer.

Thanks!

I'll look for that file as soon as I arrive home.

Thanks Thomas.

I located a file named "LoadB" in the Opus Magellan Upgrade CD. I copied it to C:,  edited my s-s and replaced the call to LoadWB by a call to C:LoadB.

Moved the opus5_startup from the WBStartup folder to elsewhere and rebooted the Amiga: a workbench-like window appears, but there are no icons and Magellan is not started (If I double click elsewhere on the desktop, the volume lister doesn't show up).

Does anyone know how can I fix this ?

I've returned to my previous config : A call to LoadWB in s-s and the "opus5_startup" app in WBStartup folder ...

Thanks ;)

The file should be called "LoadDB", not "LoadB"
Thank you very much.

Yes, I wrote incorrectly the name of the command and now it runs fine.
