A1200 doesn't boot after scsi.device upgrade
« on: April 06, 2007, 04:58:07 PM »
Hi everybody

I have tried to install a replacement scsi device for mi Workbench 3.1 in order to be able to use my CDROM (LG 52X Atapi) with amicdfs 2.40.

I got the scsi ide from here :
http://os.amigaworld.de/index.php?lang=en&page=37

I installed the soft as the readme file explains, editing the Startup-sequence and putting there the line :

LoadV43Module >NIL: a300.ld.strip

As a result of this my Amiga 1200 no longer boots from hard drive...

Is there a way to fix the problem without having to reinstall workbench 3.1 from scratch??

My machine:

A1200, 4 Gb HD, 68030 Accelerator with 32 Mb fast.
Kickstart 3, Workbench 3.1
Euro72 video mode (I'm not able to see Amiga Early Setup screen unless I connect it to the TV)

Thanks in advance.
A1200 Desktop : 16 Gb CF card, DVD ROM, ZIP 250, Fastata 1200 MKII, 128 Mb Fast, Microbotics 1230XA Accelerator, WLAN Card, AmigaOS 3.9

Thanks everyone for its contributions.

Let me say It's a pleasure for an Amiga Platform beginner like me to receive those so detailed explanations.

Maybe this is the reason why the platform survives after its "theoretical death" many years ago.

Tomorrow morning I'll connect my A1200 to the TV and fix the line in Startup-sequence file.

Thank you very much.
