Hello everyone. Amiga 2000 SCSI CDRom question.
« on: March 27, 2007, 07:13:33 PM »
Hi there. I've been a lurker on the site for quite some time, absorbing what I can of useful Amiga advice. I'm breaking my silence because i. I might have something to contribute to the community and ii. I've gotten myself into a tough hardware project.

I want to hook up a CDRom to my Amiga 2000HD. It is a SCSI CDRom attached to the end of a A2091 chain. I'm running WB 1.3 that autoboots from an internal hard drive. I've installed AmiCDFS and still can't read the disk. If I place a CDRom in the drive during startup, the computer locks and doesn't boot.

So, my questions are: first, is is possible to install and use a CDRom drive under WB 1.3? Second, if it isn't, would an upgrade to WB 2.0 help matters? Third, if it is, what process should I follow to install it and how would I test the results?

I really appreciate it. Thanks.

Thanks. I have the version 6.6 ROMs for the 2091. That's probably the culprit. Besides getting a new board, does anyone sell just the 7.0 or Guru ROMs?
