Absolutely. I love my A600s (I've scrounged three to add to my original one). Stick a CDRW in the side, lots of USB ports on the side or back and catches on the corners for an optional TFT screen. Biggest hazard is sourcing a decent mouse/touchpad solution at reasonable cost.
I use my laptop far more than any of the other computers at home simply because I can use it from a comfy chair in the lounge and don't have to be banished into the dining room. I wish it ran a bit cooler though - it almost singes my legs at times!
