I had some initial problems, but these seemed to stem from a ppcboot/FSB problem, which I'm told have been solved in the latest update to ppcboot. Once I had lowered my FSB from 133 to 100 everything in Linux is working fine. (I'm told I can change the FSB back with the latest ppcboot)
Some people have found it useful to lower FSB to 100 for installation, if your memory is a little flakey. Once it's up and running, you can go back to 133.
Note that the A1-G3 still runs at 600Mhz by changing the clock multiplier. Quite a few of us are running at 700MHz with no problems whatsoever.
