A1200: Commodore or Escom?
« on: May 28, 2007, 05:04:46 AM »
i've got two A1200's here and was thinking about selling one of them. one is an original Commodore model with 'A1200' badge and KS 3.0 installed. the other is an Escom 'A1200HD' with KS 3.1 roms. both are in very nice physical and working condition, though the original HD for the Escom model has died. i do actually have a spare Commodore A1200 case that's in mint condition, so i could swap the guts of either one into that if i wanted. any thoughts on which i should hold onto and for what reason? is the original better?

both have a 4mb expansion installed, i just need to figure out which would be better of the two to keep.

also, are floppy disk drives compatible between the A1200 and an A500?

thanks!

hmm, so any opinion as to which would be better to hang on to (mainly regarding the electronics)? not sure yet on the motherboard revisions, i'll have to open them up. i'm actually just going to maybe set them aside for now and look into them in a month or two when i have more time. i'd really like to keep both of them if i can.

makes good sense, thanks! did any Escom models ship with 3.0 roms, i don't want to pass it off as something less than it is if i sell it.
