arnljot: sorry to hear about your bad experience. fortunately, I've traded with many people in the Amiga community and have only had positive experiences. Many I have sent, cheques to and had no "protection" whatsoever, but thankfully all have delivered. It's sad to hear of one rotten apple spoiling the cart
Anyway, I just wanted to ask...it looks like you paid this cretin via PayPal. I don't know if your PayPal account purchases are linked to your credit card but if they are and it is a VISA card then you are covered for this. All you have to do is phone your CC company and explain to them what has happened and ask them about issuing a "Chargeback" or compensation by some other means.
All CC purchases are covered, even between private individuals and through PayPal...at least here in the UK. So it might be worth looking into.
