I haven't really read the Amiga.com site in maybe 5 years.  Bt, as far as I last knew, OS4.0 was never intended to run on anything except "New" Amigas, ie AmigaOne and later desktop systems.  I was in attendance when Amiga Inc made their official announcements about the future of AmigaOS.  I have  a pretty good picture of what they had planned.  I do believe they might do less than they planned (already true), not /more/.
What I assume you are seeing on their site is another product line of Amiga Inc's, that has almost nothing to do with genuine Amigas, "Classic", AmigaOne, or otherwise.

OS4.0 really is released, that is a fact.  Unless you should encounter someone willing to part with his/her AmigaOne, you are out of luck for being able to use it, unless you are one of the few who are somehow running it on CyberStormPPC boards (which I wish I were!)  There is no such official release for "Classic" Amigas.

No offence, but I don't think anyone will believe your word about new hardware in April.  First of all, we probably would have heard it somewhere else by now, and second, we've heard so many promises and dates, and "1Q2004" etc. over the years we don't believe any release dates anymore unless they actually happen, as in, past tense!

I hate to kill your enthusiasm, because believe me, I wish I still had it.  But, I get the impression Amiga Inc. are just trying to keep their paychecks getting paid, rather than trying to capitalise on anything worthwhile.

It is very possible to run any one of the given Amiga emulators on a PC laptop (maybe even Mac?).  I have one set up that way, but unfortunately, the particular emulator I bought doesn't support networking or sound on my particular laptop.  I suspect it would work on almost any other laptop.
