PS2, Wii, ps3, xb360,.... all had teething problems (probably others too, these are just the ones I remember).
Its hardly surprising that as the machines get more complicated these things happen.
Time will tell how serious an issue it is.
PS4 has had issues as well, but sysadmins OCD in regards to MS seems to let that one go 
I'm glad you mentioned 360, the sheer number of butt sniffing Microsoft fanboy losers who bought 3 or more replacement consoles just proves NOTHING will prevent the sale of crap products to loser fanboys

The original 360 was the nastiest console (build quality) I have ever used in my life, worse even than the CD32 (although not quite as ugly as a CD32...just lol). If mine had RROD'd I would have never replaced the console...but then I don't fondle myself staring at vintage Bill Gates in his NHS glasses and Walmart shirt type posters like most 360 fanatics who bought multiple consoles after each one melted like a dodgy Wizard of Oz reenactment
