I got a Mediator from Elbox and like you, was scared to fit it. However, oncde I bit the bullet, the instructions were easy to follow and as it's a well made board, it slotted together easily enough. The hardest part is actually putting the A1200 motherboard into the tower, everything else is much easier.
Once the mediator is fitted, the accelerator and PCI crads just slot in, like in a "real" pc
