Coder in Blitz Basic wanted
« on: August 03, 2010, 05:50:52 PM »
WPATest is a proggy who test some functions of the graphics.library...

... with two big bugs :

1) crash if the WB is less than 640*200
2) results is not good with WinUAE (fast cpu)

I have the source of WPATest, in Blitz Basic...

Who are able to fix ?

No news from AmigaDave... Oh...

@fishy_fiz
@Merc
@mousehouse

Give me your email via PM, I'll send you the source

From the author, maybe can help you :

"For the percentage readout, according to the info in BlazeWCP (which is all I have to go on), that is maybe related to available chip bandwidth ie. how close the routines get to saturating the chip bus?
I'm really not sure, but if that's the case it may well give funny results on WinUAE.
Certainly does if I run it on a CGFX system with a graphics card, presumably because the routines are writing to gfx memory, not chip RAM, so they can end up with >100% scores."

Always looking for a Blitz Basic coder...

The source is only 706 lines long, so it's simple to fix these 2 bugs...

I want no more krach if running < 640x200...
And the correct results with WinUAE !

And you can add a $VER: WPATest v1.1 by Stephen Brookes and your name !!

>I need to modify the test slightly, since it uses ~400px resolution.

No, just add a requester if WPATest is launched < 640 x 200 : "WPATest don't run with this Workbench resolution. Please, restart at least with 640 x 400"

... or something like that... But no more guru, please !

The "speed" button is the benchmark : and give some out of range results on WinUAE, because the cpu emulation is too fast !

That's the bug to fix !

Good question... A compilation with -m68000 is working ?

For the OS version = 3.0 and 3.1
