Where can I find a Mac Disk Tools or startup disk?
« on: August 02, 2008, 04:46:57 AM »
I'd like to get my Mac emulator back up and running through Shapeshifter, but I cannot find my floppy disk for Disk Tools to start it up.  I have MacOS 7.5.1.

Where can I find one, or is there another way to boot up?  I can't boot off of the CD.  I read that the Disk Tools can be downloaded from Apple's site, but I think they removed those long ago because I can't find them.

ummm... this link might help, but only if you have a mac [with floppy drive] to use during the process...

I tried using StuffIt for the PC, but it states that these boot disk files are in an unknown archive format.

Through some searching, I did manage to find OS 7.5.3 from the Apple site, but it's all in parts.  I think I still need a working Mac to put them all together.  I wasn't sure if 7.5.3 will boot up without a boot disk or not.

Other sites have "links" to Mac Classic boot disks, but they are broken.  So, I haven't had much luck yet in finding a good boot disk.

If I could just get it booted, I can install the OS from there.

Ah, there we go.  I got it working now.  Been a long time since I saw that opening Mac screen.   :-D
