I didn't know there was a 'New User Introductions' forum when I joined and with the excitement of OS4 i flew past my 500th post without even noticing it :oops:

So here I am with a 1st Anniversary thread instead :-D

:violin: There were 3 great friends and Amiga buddies at my location. But unbelievably Andy got that awful CJD and died. Peter was so devastated that he has not been able to switch on an Amiga since. This left me tinkering with my Amigas all by my lonesome for 2 years. It just wasn't the same without anyone to chat Amiga with, offer my help to or be helped by :violin:


But then I met you guys and felt like an orphan who had found his family again :banana:

It's been a really enjoyable year in which I have learned a lot and hope that I've been able to help some of you. Your questions have had me firing up Amigas and checking things out day and night.

Well, the mrs finally managed to get me away from OS4 and push me into the loft for the Xmas tree yesterday. So I guess I'll have to avoid the rolling pin and get with the spirit of things :pint: :pint: :pint:

We've also got to prepare for a little Amigans birthday on Saturday 15th. Dana, who uses her own A1200 Desktop every day, will be 6 :angel:


I thought I'd show you the 5' 4" Xmas card I was given by a girl friend who works for Ann Summers.

I certainly will mate. One good thing is that Peter has said he doesn't want to get rid of any of his Amigas. So prehaps he will be able to switch them on again some day. But I'm worried that if he leaves it too long, the motherboard batteries on his two A4000's will have already leaked and destroyed them :nervous: It would be just awful if he plucked up the courage to turn one on and it was broken!!


I know from experience that if you try to over encourage someone to do something, it can have the opposite effect. Would anyone here have any suggestions as to how I can help my friend to switch on his Amigas again?

That's a good idea. If I tell him to dump the Amigas or give them to me, he might just switch them on to spite me :-)
