try to flash the card to latest flashrom update, i used a prelude 1200 for a long time and there where no problems with that (also clockport) .
also the maprom jumper should be CONNECTED (as in ON) , also it does normally work so i suggest that you try another jumper (maybe u have one in a drawer
)
