I'm sure others will post here as well but over the course of time it *APPEARS* as if the Phase 5 produced cards have held up better (more reliable). When DCE took over Phase 5 production, card owners started to report more occurences of defects.
I think that DCE's biggest problem is / was their extremely poor customer communications. It could be months between the time a card was sent in for repair before DCE would provide an update to the card owner. If you do a search here on AO you will find several stories relaying just that.
As for DCE boards being "better", I don't know about that. They may have used later revision chips but given the problems encountered by users, I'm not sure I would do anything to a functional DCE board.
EDIT - I have never owned DCE manufactured equipment. In the past I have owned Cyberstorm MK2, MK3 as well as Cybervision PPC all of which were made by Phase 5 and stamped as such. I have no first hand experience with DCE components.
