Agreed.  Plus, IDE-to-SATA adapters are dirt cheap, too. ($1-$5 a pop on eBay ATM).

How about implementing the A500 Zorro expansion port instead?  That way we can use Action Replay's, homebrew IDE adapters, GVP SCSI controllers, etc.  Would probably offer better compability, too.
