Phantom:  According to Eyetech Group, new AmigaOne motherboards will be ready for sale in the next few months (telephone conversation). That's all.

This is public information?

Given that the MAI Logic website is still riddled with broken images and missing content, we can only hope they have found a new chipset.  That probably means a whole new crop of bugs that will have to be covered up until software workarounds are made.

I hate the low-volume market.  Having worked for small stores, I've used rediculously expensive "professional" equipment that makes a budget, consumer-level Hewlet Packard look like a Toyota Camry.  Nothing like working on a $150,000 photo printer that streaks like crazy due to dust, and breaks down every couple weeks because a $0.02 spring came loose.

PulsatingQuasar:  The original XE has a bug less; the onboard sound works so it is not as broken as some people like to say. On a month by month basis, OS4 is working better and better on it.

I thought the whole point to using proprietary hardware is that development of software is easier.  It's a shame how long it takes to make these patches, that people are led to believe that problems are not actually "problems" because they can always be patched in software sometime later, and how enthusiasticly AmigaOne owners shoot down these "rumors" of bugs.

A bug is a bug, and workaround is a workaround.  Why can't people just use real hardware?
