Hi,

20gb hd on standard ide port    Has anyone managed to do that?

Yep, PFS3, great filesystem, supports massive harddrives (1 TB?)
and its also much more stable than FFS

scsi.device is in rom and it's patched by 3.9's SetPatch on boot up. If I use 3.9's SetPach it will patch other stuff eventhought there are probably options to set it up. But is there other more convenient way of doing this?

Yep, PFS accesses the drive directly, bypassing the SCSI.device (I think, its called direct SCSI)

I prefer not to install 3.9 for now.

PFS3 supports OS2.04 and above I think, I know for sure it supports 3.1

hope that helps
