I have both of the above but the LS-120 is not recognized by the system... I have the doubt that the limited IDE controller of the X-Surf cannot use the LS-120... am I right?

I have been using an IDE LS120 drive on the standard IDE port so I doubt an X-Surf would be any problem at all, just make sure you alter the mountlist to point to whatever the x-surf names its ide port (xsurfide.device?)

You say not recognized.. is that in a hdtoolbox scan? because it should be listed there (but as not usable) so check you have it set to master if its the only one on the IDE interface.

HDToolBox does not see the unit either...

Does the unit do the normal bzzt click bzzt click when you apply power? cause yeah it sounds like it "could" be dead, either that or you have the IDE cable in upside down I guess.

I also read it would not be possible to use CD-burner... that's why I have anyway some doubts...

Hmm, sorry but I dont have a clue about the X-Surf but the Buddha cards came with LS120 mountlists if I remember correctly so I dont see why the X-Surf, made later, would be worse...
