OS4 Classic petition
Hardware License Petition

Petitions dont work, anyway I thought hyperion said on aw.net that they are getting the OS4 classic PPC version ready now.
As for hardware, who the heck are you going to send that petition to? hyperion? they know about the lack of hardware. Amiga inc? They dont care about OS4, just Amiga Anywhere.
As for the bounty idea I do think setting up an international site for people to put up a bounty for hardware or software would be a great idea.
Get as many different projects working on the same bounty as they want (dont assign it to one group) and such like.

The down side is if someone doesnt want to do the work you are stuck, Amizilla being the obvious example, its got a massive pot of money waiting, its been going for a long time with adverts in Total Amiga, Slashdot and more, we need a new browser yet still nothing has been shown, not even a line of code. Its sad.

I just feel the only reason we dont have anything is because of AIncs bad legal dwindlings and if we lobby we may achieve.

How can someone who does nothing make a situation worse, except by slow erosion of the userbase.
From day one they said they were interested in the AA, a portable OS, not the classic/PPC Amiga.
Ok, if A.Inc were to be taken over by a group of Amiga fan boys with lots of money or skill I bet we would see some new spark of life in the community but.. Mehh, it aint gonna happen.

Plus as it stands Hyperion aint getting paid for their work.Plus as it stands Hyperion aint getting paid for their work.

They have had more than enough time to put the project on ice until hardware was available, they are good guys but it was always a big risk. At least now they can go and write some games for a while (For linux or Mac, etc) and get an income for a while until hardware comes out.

PS hope this hasnt been done already or if it has can we have the links or put them on A.Orgs homepage

The idea of everyone contacting Amiga or signing a petition has been done to death, it wont change anything because a.inc are not hardware designers.

the petition over hardware was for companies that have hardware that Ainc wont give a licence too fro maybe daft reasons

I have not seen anyone with a PPC motherboard who has been turned down by Amiga inc... have you?
if the Sam gets launched but for some reason Amiga inc try and stop hyperion or whoever from getting OS4 on to it then that is the time to do another 20 questions thing with Amiga asking why etc but that is second guessing something that hasnt even happened yet.
If your thinking of those PPC developers boards then dont, they are not suitable for use as a computer, they just are not.

Oli I thought you may have seen this more than anyone

Nope, never needed to speak to them, most people wont, its not like all software programmers have to get the software checked by a.org before they can launch it or hardware guys before they launch a zorro card.
I did e-mail Amiga a few owners back about getting a Zorro ID (Was a CAT's number) but never got an e-mail back, I posted on the a.com forum and then just left it, I will just allocate one myself when the time comes.  :-D

As a side note if Ainc grant you a license and you have firmware issues and then if Hyperion can help with this process.

If you had firmware problems you could hire Hyperion without A.inc, the firmware is Uboot, which isnt owned by Amiga in any way shape or form. Hyperion are not bound to Amiga for anything but OS4 so taking on a firmware job would be fine.
Altering OS4 to run on it would be ok, selling that may not, I dont know what the contract is.. only Amiga and Hyperion do.

the abilty to produce a finished product that had native OS support on launch in a reduced time this surely is a good thing for everyone.

The problem is your handing amiga inc a petition saying licence this hardware when there is no hardware to licence.
We dont even know if the Sam board makers will apply to Amiga inc for a licence, they may not even try and just expect a.inc to come to them or just to launch a compatiable program to run on the Sam.

Anyway Im sat at work when I should be sat at home, I intend to correct this now. :-)

PS: they are saying your beating a dead horse, not a dead amiga user... horses taste better
