Just download https://apolloos.weebly.com/ write it to CF and you are running.

Ignore the copyright police, they are running on the waambulance very busy enforcing the copyright of dead products that have expired copyrights.

Also you can run your installation inside winuae if you wish i have seen that amikitX will be available for the vampire shortly using a modified installer.

AmigaOS 3.5/3.9 were developed and distributed by Haage&Partner, under license from Amiga. As far as we know, said license has expired by now (and was even revoked prematurely in OS 3.9's case), meaning that there's no party holding the complete rights to these releases at the moment.

Its not freeware and its in a legal limbo, so there no one that can claim rights to it now.
I have no use for the Amiga OS 3.9 cd, i cannot connect one to the vampire.
But purchased an Amiga 3.1 rom from amikit for my amiga 500 so already helped there.

Its so funny the Amiga forums are fill of armchair lawyers and vintage copyright police.
They only care about this, what it think they just have fun trolling about copycrap and don't care about anything else amiga related.

This thread was about to help a guy get his vampire working, and the copyright nazis fully derailed it into a nonsense law discussion.

I could suggest him go to the apollo-core forum there he could get some help.

I hope I have found the help I am needing now.
And yes, I have an original copy of OS3.1, OS3.5 and OS3.9 (also older OSes).
I have tested Apollo-OS to see my Vampire working (my fear was to have a bad card). Now I am waiting some new stuff from AmiKit and I hope I will be able to have a "bad girl Amiga"! :)
I have also other Amiga and I could have used a copy of their OS3.9 but Apollo-OS is pre configured for Vampire and the test have been much more easier.
I hope to have a DVD, two CF, an LS-120 (to be found), the SD and I hope also to add USB and Ethernet! :) A big project and, I have to be true, Apollo-OS solved many of my doubts! If I get some results I post them while I make steps...

Try the sdnet thing need only the Ethernet module and a micro-sd extender is like 5 usd total. It take me some work to solder it but is much faster than the plip box and cheaper. Works fine using miami dx, but you need to upgrade to gold 2.5 if you still have gold 2.

I keep seeing bits of info regarding using the microSD slot with Ethernet and WiFi, but is there an idiots guide to getting the adapter and setting it up? Complete with pointers or links on where to purchase, etc.?

If you don't have gold 2.5 first update download here and update:
Download http://wiki.apollo-accelerators.com/#latest_drivers

Download sdnet package:
Inside the file is a txt that explains in detail how to build the adapter and get it working
http://www.apollo-accelerators.com/files/sdnet0.8.lha

Then you have this threads some extra info:
http://www.apollo-core.com/knowledge.php?b=5¬e=9430
http://www.apollo-core.com/knowledge.php?b=5¬e=6761

This is what i have purchased
https://www.ebay.com/itm/3-3V-Mini-ENC28J60-Ethernet-LAN-Network-Module-For-51-AVR-STM32-LPC-2014/171265871630?epid=1233312767&hash=item27e03dcf0e:g:1LQAAOxyf1dTHsrj

For my adapter used this removed the ribbon and soldered wires to it but if you are not experienced using the soldering iron go for the breakout board:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/TF-Male-To-MicroSD-Female-Card-Reader-Extension-Adapter-Cable-For-Phone-GPS-TV/282556109576?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=581720082432&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

Breakout board you just need to solder a header and use DuPont wires to connect the Ethernet module i hear that this boards can be badly design and can be to fat so it can destroy your micro sd slot when insert it you have to check the one you purchase for defects:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Micro-SD-Modul-Board-Shield-Breakout-for-Arduino/332000350622?epid=2244433972&hash=item4d4cc3519e:g:jgwAAOSwYIxYAPpO

When you finish building the module the driver includes a test program.
Then you need a tcp/ip stack on your amiga if your are not familiar its another can of worms.
