large hd info needed.

i guess the old thread is a bit confusing...
i have a 6.4 gb drive. i have os 3.9 and idefix. simple. what limits do i have on this? and how do i over come limits? are there any recommended partition sizes or things to avoid.  :-?

i am not going to use os 3.1 but may use os 3.5 some time.

what about the 4gb limit. is this a problem? i was assuming the 4gb limit was a problem seeing a partition on a drive past 4gb as that what happened to me. or is it a patition that is over 4gb in size? is it ok to long format it? i did and it seemed fine.

that would me happy. does anything change on a drive over 8gb? thanks so far. :-)
