i think the amiga one was a good idea looking back. at  the time we all thought they were too expensive! (lol at ebay prices?)

what exactly happened with it? did they stop selling because they had no more stock of boards?

if i understand the question. it's asking if a motherboard could be made to fit an amiga yet was a "modern" motherboard which machine should be used? well in which case i would like one that would fit an a500 or 1200. (for retro fun.) even though i'm not a fan of their keyboards. but obviously big box amigas would be better suited. then again what about one that would fit an atx case too! while you are at it make a nice new amiga case. or make some huge amiga stickers and an amiga faceplate. i don't mind an x86 mobo although it used to be an issue for most. and any mobo designed now even to fit the amiga market would have hardware i wouldn't need to question. i no longer buy computer shopper so i don't need all the xxx superchips. if it has pci slots (for atx case.) it's there to be upgraded!
i would prefer an amiga with a audio sequencer than a pc or mac. but stability and line6 gearbox plugin (if poss.) would be my killer app. :-)

unfortunatly no other amiga would come close in terms of usability for audio sequencing... none of them even with ppc upgrades (233mhz?) are really fast enough, thats why i never got one. let alone the onboard ide. (what are the requirements for hd-rec?)amiga one was closest but i was waiting till to see what panned out. then they disappeared! so did eyetech. i would like an amiga type os as an alterative as i've said for my purposes i don't need an amiga feel on it as already said thats gone along with jay miner... but its file system and way of working are welcome. and any new amiga is unlikely to have that "feel" either. better get used to the idea and move on.  :-)
