SCSI-IDE-CF
« on: August 22, 2007, 08:02:06 AM »
I'm having a problem with connecting an IDE drive/CF-card to my scsi interface. I have an A500 with an A530. I think it may be the scsi-ide bridge. It's an Yamaha v769970 and i'm starting to think it's only for atapi devices and not for harddisks.

But when I connect a 3.5" HD to it, tt does get some info from the drive under HDToolBox. With a 3.5-2.5" adapter and a 2.5" HD or with a IDE-CF adapter however it doesn't work. The drives work under WinUAE or on my A600 by the way.

Does anyone have any experiences with this particular adapter and does anyone know if the more expensive Acard adapter works with the A530?

Thanks for the replies!

Good to know that the yamaha adapter works. I guess that the A530 has some incompatibily issues with it though. That or something's wrong with my A530. I placed the scsi drive back in the A530, but now my system is unstable and gurus a lot. It didn;t do that before. I hope I haven't broken it.

Also, those Acard adapters aren't too expensive indeed. Too bad I don't live in the States as they don't ship overseas.
