A4000T temporarily dead - Apache on WinUAE as a backup
« on: November 25, 2008, 04:09:38 AM »
Well, the power supply in my A4000T died.  Unfortunately, it's the main computer I run my website on.  I'd like to try to get Apache running on WinUAE as a backup until my A4000T is fixed.  I've got everything working in WinUAE except when I try to start up Apache.  It complains about "bad user www".  The "www" user is configured in the httpd.conf file for Apache, and I believe the issue is that the bsdsocket.library emulation of WinUAE does not account for the "www" user.  Any ideas how I can add the "www" user to WinUAE bsdsocket.library emulation, or get Apache working some other way?

I can't get uaenet.device to work right no matter what I do.  Not sure about that thing.

Yes, I'm working on a PC power supply replacement, but need an adapter since my A4000T was converted from a desktop.  Waiting on the power plug adapter to get here since I don't feel like hacking the wires myself.

Still looking for additional suggestions on getting Apache to work within WinUAE.  Anyone?  TIA!
