Yes, it should be possible using Internet Connection Sharing on the PC. There's documentation on how to set it up, but I don't remember where I saw it. You need a "null modem" cable (DTE to DTE) to do this sort of thing, not a standard serial port to modem (DTE to DCE) cable.
