- install cgx4 from cd (dont select any gfxcard yet!)
- install cgx4.3 rc5 update (tick the Bvision option, use default tooltypes)
Thats all you need to do software-wise.
The most obvious answer would be that you didnt set up your monitor the way you should. Look up its specs and choose the right one when installing CGX.
If you still dont get any output, try holding escape while booting. Do you get output (bootmenu) now? Then at least that mode is working. (though this also depends on your flashupdate). If Im not mistaken you can use this resolution in workbench and then use cgxmode to set up other display modes.

dont forget to disable maprom option on board and/or in bootmenu.

good to hear you got it working. dont hesitate to ask for more help. last year I was in the same position, new hardware, a new beginning (after 10 years) and no idea where to start.
