Very interesting.
This isn't the first time that I've seen a report of problems with compact flash cards (and in particular) amiga 4000's ide ports.
It may be worth some investigation as to how many users have had similar problems - the compact flash solution may be a problematic one for the a4000.....
Here's hoping that it's just isolated incidents but from previous posts I suspect not.
