Hello! I recently acquired a Blizzard 1240 expansion card for one of my trusty Amiga 1200s (thanks Motorollin'). It came with 64 Mb onboard which is reported as "other mem" in workbench.
What I'd like to know is how do I optimize the system so that memory usage is predominately targetted towards this other mem? At the moment, with the workbench enhancements like NewIcons, the graphics memory is running at about 1Mb of the 2Mb limit.
Surely there's a utility that I can use or some FAQ that gives information on how to tweak these things.
When I gaze longingly at some of the Workbench screenshots on amiga.org, I notice that people are using hardly any graphics mem at all. Is this because they are using RTG graphics cards and their associated memory? Or are these clever people who can run up their programs, etc and know exactly which memory space to run them in?
