But there is a few cool games that offers multiplayer thru the serialport.

Would it be possible to use two RS232 to Ethernet converters, setup a connection thru the internet (setting the necessary NAT rules etc), and play it that way?

That would be so cool (and expencive, but hey it would be cool!)

Anyone tried something like this?

You can also use two MicroTelnet devices to create an internet bridge between two serial devices.

heh, how mutch damage can anyone do if they gain access to the amigas serial port, when its in a game?

I dont think thats the #1 target, and if so, I cannot imagine what they would be able to do. Setup a spam server over rs232? Yey

somehow I dont think network lag will have any impact on a serial game.

Anyway, using a pc means more cables and configuration and stuff. A hardware box, that I can (hopefully) configure from the miggy is a mutch more apealing idea.

Well I have a few macs, but all without serialports, so I have to get some usb adapters then.

But I have used this kind of serial servers before, when I attended school we used this devices to communicate with old PLC systems, but then we used pc (with routing software) to serial server, not serialserver to serialserver. But this should not mater.

But I'll check around and see if any of the supplier my company uses has this kind of equiptment, in that case I can borrow a pair to test.
