Who knew AmigaAnywhere meant there would be a host of companies using the Amiga brand?

You've got two things here.  The Amiga name and the logo.  The Amiga name is currently not trademarked for toilets, squirrels or most non-computer items.  However you can't use the logo, that remains in the hands of (what appears to be) a few dozen select companies....

Don't knock Vietnam, we've been taking a holiday there every year for 5 years.  It's a great country that has a sad past.  Walking on the beach by all the tourist hotels on Sunrise Beach (used to be known as China Beach) at sunrise is a beautiful experience.

They apparently had a war there that devastated the country and only ended 35 years ago.  It's remarkable what they've done in 3 and a half decades.  Probably one of my favourite places in SE Asia.

Anyway, Vietnam is a magical place.  You have to realise that Adults 35 and younger were born after the war and that you have to be almost 40 to actually remember it at all, which means that 2/3s of the population doesn't remember it.  I think they've done well to preserve it as sort of a patriotic moment but not dwell on it.

Sunrise Beach as a tourist destination full of hotels is a far better legacy than it's old name of China Beach and it connotations of destruction.  The ability to move on is a wonderful thing.  It's a bit like (South) Korea.  Remember the past but don't dwell on it.  Live in the present.

The food is great, the people friendly, the beaches good.  I remember wandering the streets of the tourist capital Da Nang late into the night and never having any fear of crime.  Vietnam is a country that has a bright future.

What I meant is that it is something that they remember as a crucial point in their history but it doesn't dominate discussion or public thought.  It's a bit like Anzac Day.  I've been to Gallipoli and was moved to tears.  None of my ancestors/relatives fought there, well possibly one of the Persian ones but they were on the wrong side if they did. but none the less it's a part of my history as an Aussie.  But do I think of Gallipoli every day?  No, of course not.  It's the same with Vietnam and the War of Liberation.  It's a single point of definition for modern Vietnam, but most days they have too much other stuff to do than to dwell on it.  Vietnam is very much a country that lives in the present, that's what makes it such an interesting place.

Well we have 60p so far, that's 12 bob, a bit high for the Amiga computer name since everyone and their uncle seem to have rights to it.  Any body want to throw in half a crown?

I guess 2s/6d isn't even possible in the UK anymore, we don't have a half crown coin any more here in Oz, but we've got a full size florin (20 cents) and six pence (5 cents), to get us there.
