maybe cdrom-drives? Some people have fitted slimline cd-roms inside their A1200s.
As for the ethernet cards check the readme of the drivers on aminet. If you want to find out which brands/models of ethernetcards that uses which chipset I´m sure it´s listed on several Linux-sites(sorry don´t have the links anymore).
