I´m amazed that Batman is legal.
Anyway I don´t think being named Stålman should be a problem as long as the kid has some other first names.  David Rune Stålman Leisten, sounds like a good enough name to me.
I think he would be called David by his parents and in school.

If you can have Björn(Bear) as a first name and Lejon(Lion), Modig(Brave) and Stark(Strong) as surnames why not Stålman?

As for the surname-likness that´s just bull.
Inger René, she has a surname that sounds like a first name.
And if your family name is Nilsson you can´t name your daugther Nilsdotter(Nilsdaugther) which was a common in the middleages. Neither can you if you are names Thomas Johansson name your kids Thomasson/Thomasdaugther.

I always wanted to see if I would be allowed to change my name to Åsna(Donkey) or Sjusovare(dormouse but it also means lazy in swedish)!

Poor bloody kid!
kid can always change name... at adult age... after being bullied tremendously :-(

geez, what a stupid mum that is, just not caring what her kid's called, just pick one "funny name"

still, not something to make a law about methinks...

Oh yes there needs to be a law!

Ka-el would sound better than SUPERMAN.
 A new fad is born! I'll name my son as Bill Gates the 3rd, so back off!
Other options are Grover, CookieMonster, Elmo.

Who could forget, NEO, Trinity, and Morpheus.

.........Though the baby looks cute on that outfit. Awww.. :-)

Regards,

Gizz

Kal-el would work, they accepted Obiwan Kenobi
And Morpheus wouldn´t be any problem.
