Just so everyone knows, you have always been able to get NOS A4000T's from Software Hut for about $1000 USD.  You just have to e-mail them and ask.  I bought one last year.

Exactly, HammerD; I'm not sure what the big fuss is about. I bought TWO of them from from Software Hut last year, With 060 boards!

One of them is still in the crate because I want to take a photo series of unpacking a factory fresh A4000T  :-D

This is like running into a Coke factory and proclaiming Pepsi is better. Anyone who thinks they can source an A4000T at Software hut, be my guest.

No offense redrumola, I'm not claiming Pepsi or Coke is better. I just thought it was general knowledge that new old stock A4000T's have always been available at a price for those who need them, this has even been discussed here, and was surprised at the reaction.

I'd rather see them being used by the community rather than corroding in a warehouse no matter who sells them! The more time people are using a real Amiga, the better.

Nope, they don't. A4000Ts had coin type batteries.

You sure?

Maybe I can shed a little light on this. I bought some A4000T's from SH last year, and they had to go through these Secret Squirrel negotations - apparently with the same source. If so, they are solid units with NO leaking batteries. I just took one apart for this post, and the motherboard says:

A4000T Rev. 4

and it has a working coin lihium battery. The sticker on the back of the case says:

Made in the USA
Amiga Technologies GmbH
FCC ID MK9A4000T
SN# 365317-19-00726

The 060 accelerator card, as HammerD noted, is the second smaller "desktop" version of the same board, named A4000-060 XP Rev. 2. I suspect these are the type still available.

These are primo machines, and I'd advise anyone interested to get one from redrumola while they can!
