GENESIS does not give its client name
« on: December 19, 2011, 04:56:03 PM »
Does anyone know how to make Genesis show its client name (in my case AMIGA) to my LinkSys Wireless Modem Router?

I want to reserve an IP adress for my AMIGA but its client name shows up as Unknown in the setup page of the router.

I've already adjusted the ip and the mac address of the Amiga.

The client name is sent in the DHCP packet (option 12). Genesis doesn't do DHCP.

DHCP client working in Genesis

Would this help?
