Years ago, when running my A1000, I had a C Ltd controller that attached to the expansion port on the side.  As many have already said, this is the same expansion as the A500 just backwards.  The C Ltd controller used a 25pin scsi connector on the backside that I connected to my 100MB hard drive.  Ran quite well for several years (1989-95) until...

I attempted to add the ROMs.  Not that adding the ROMs was an issue, but I already had an internal 1.5MB expansion card connected through the 68000 socket and the ROMs needed to go through it also.  The height of the two (2) expansions made it impossible to close the box and handle the RF radiating from the box.

At that point, I decided to purchase an A3000.
