I think that fxSCAN from IOSPIRIT GmbH (
http://www.iospirit.de) might be able to do it because you can set the device in its preferences menu.
Why don't we get together & I could try to help you out. I've got an HP Scanjet IIc that has a SCSI interface that I can give you for free, it you want it. I've replaced it with an HP Scanjet 4c.
We're pretty close to each other, relatively speaking, & we're both licensed amateur radio operators. :-D
