Just got this machine(free :).. ) very decent condition.  But there is this 15pin female connector that comes out the back???  Is this a video add on board for the 500?  I can
post a pic later if needed.

Thanks

Mmm.. opps I didn't mean to imply that the 15pin dsub was part of the GVP A530.  The connector is dangling out the back of the machine just above the stock video port.

(pics to come later after she is cleaned up)

Probably has an internal FF/SD card in it. When you open her up, check to see if Denise got gang banged...

On a side note: anyone that took the time and expense to upgrade their 500 with such a nice accelerator would probably have gone the extra mile to enhance the video out as well. NICE system have you have there. And for free no less? Damn!

IIt might be a VGA cable from a Flicker-Fixer type add-on so you can use modern monitors instead of the old 15 KHz monitors.

Could well be an Indivision ECS, if so, that's one hell of an Amiga you got there :)

Good point .. so I doubt its an ECS.  I will have to open the machine up to check
it out.

Indivision ECS is really, really new. Who would purchase one of those and then give their computer away?

If it's a FF/SD, I bet it's an oldie but a goodie anyway :)

I'm hoping someone can shed some light on the images.  Looks like a wire is cut on the MX chip.. Can you tell this is my first A500 :).. Do I need to reconnect this wire before I power her up??

Thanks
Rich

Cool .. thanks for the info :-).. Will do some cleaning of the keyboard now that the machine is apart.  So will a flat panel monitor work?

Any idea what monitors will work with the ICD ??

No - that version of Kickstart requires the wire to be cut in an A500. Chips were sold like that because in some revision mobo's, requires it to be connected. Leave it the way it is.

So yeah, looks like you have an old ICD FF/SD hooked to Denise like I thought AND a MegaChip board that allows 2MB Chip RAM in that A500. That is a really, really nice freebie you got there  :)

Hook her to a VGA monitor and power her up!

I would have to disagree... tried several monitors here at work..

Dell UltraSharp 2000FP
Dell 1905FP
Sony MultiScan 520GS (big crt)..

These did not work..although I would say the 2000fp seemed to want to work..but didn't
