FS or Trade A4000d highflyer
« on: March 13, 2009, 06:02:22 PM »
It's a 4000d with highflyer case and 2 scsi hd, 1 scsi cdrom, 1 ata cdrom, 1 ata harddrive, video toaster, new roms and a few other things. I live in the usa btw so NTSC. It's too much of a beast for me. When I got it the power button/stick was broke so I have it kinda taped. The original floppy drive seemed not to work so I ordered a new one. Well I've installed the new one but it seems to only read a floppy if it was in at boot time. Odd. Also I have the ata cdrom drive hooked up because I don't know how to install the scsi drivers. The ata cable barely fits in the tight space on the harddrive and cdrom so it hangs out of the front of the case when I have it hooked up. The scsi cdrom drive (which I don't know how to get working) fits fine and doesn't require it to hang out. lol If interested pm or email me thedaemonofid at gmail dot_com . I will snap some pictures for you too. Updated to the newest ROMS too btw. Also have flickerfixer and a monitor that's not commodore.

I'm looking for a 500/600/1200 NTSC. I want something much less complex that I can tool around DPaint and play some games on. I'm kinda new to the Amiga and picking up a 4000 as a first one was a bad idea!!

That or some hard cash. Thanks for looking. And feel free to ask any questions.

I am not used to the Amiga way of doing things. I have installed from scratch everything that I can. That's what's on there now. Even added MUI and a few things, but I just don't understand the scsi stuff. Why don't you buy it and fix it? :) It's also a HUGE case and I need space more than I need an old computer.

Also willing to trade for old PC or such. Let me know. Have a few c64s I could get rid of too if you are interested. I will post pictures as soon as I can. All the computers are at my father's house.

Haha, well I guess I should have specified. Trade for equal value. :) Or some cash along with it. Yeah, we can all dream. I've spent quite a chunk of change on this thing, so a stock 500 won't cut it by itself :)

Oh a 3000 would work, almost a straight trade there. Anyways, all offers considered before I put it on ebay.

Thanks everyone for the responses! Last time I posted this noone seemed to care. haha. Well, I'm going today to pickup the machine from my father's house. Pictures will be up tonight as well as more detailed specifications. Please continue to make offers. I've had a few good ones but keep them coming as I'm sure some of them will fall through. Thanks again for the interest!! I hope someone enjoys the hell out of this 4000!

PS Make me an offer of any computer related if you want, new pcs whatever!!

Pics are up. I have more parts that go along with it, but haven't dug them out of the closet yet. This is the MEAT of the package anyways.

The flyer card isn't in the pictures. I guess I left a box of stuff at my dads house. I will collect the rest soon. Yeah I will take a picture of the battery area in detail. Just got a little bit of fuzz on the battery, nothing on the motherboard. Will take pics when it's not 3am. lol

Edit: Battery pictures taken. Two of them are blurry, sorry but the other is clear. My camera isn't good for close up pictures.

About my price. Bartering is when you offer what its worth to you. If you say offer me a stock a500 and that's it and another person offers me a MacPro you can see how much it's worth to each of you. :P I'm not exactly sure what I want for it but for you man $600 ;) lol

Ok, if you are going to offer me a single 500 or 1200 it better be accelerated and chocked full of goodies.
