Scala rack mount unit
« on: March 17, 2009, 04:13:37 PM »
Well anyone have any special tips, hints, etc. for using a Scala ?
Which keyboard  should be used?
I had it for a long time(bought  from an auction and stashed) before opening it to see a CD32 and Sx devices inside.

 Yes,that is it.
I received no dongle or documents or disk so hoped someone knew how this is set up.
Found nothing on Scala's website as they are Windows -based now.
Plugging  it in with an Amiga monitor gives only a blank screen and fan or drive noise.Don't see a hard drive but have not tried to take it apart beyond removing the top plate of the rack box.

 Good news!
I overlooked SX-1 while looking for Scala manual;found Paravision SX-1 manual in PDF .This answers many of my questions about the hardware .

 Bad news!
Link to download sx-1 utility disk (73 kbytes)  returns 404 error.Page is 15 years old.....guess they shut it down.
Anyone know where to find SX-1 utilities  disk?

Does anyone know if the (not)included Scala disk was special to this model or was it "just" Scala's regular Amiga program?

Also guess this needs opened up and the battery in there replaced/removed.

I didn't know what was in this when I bought it just that it was some type of Amiga related hardware;looks like it was worth it just for the SX-1 if nothing else.
