Additional RAM
« on: September 07, 2007, 02:29:21 PM »
So does RAM beyond the 8MB limit have to be added via an accelerator or processor of some kind or is there a board (for the Amiga 2000) that can add additional RAM without going through the processor add on?

Currently I have 16 MB. 2 MB on A25000 card, 8 MB on GVP SCSI, 4 MB on A2630 Accelerator. But of course only 10 MB is being addressed. I have the 2 MB MegaChip.

Actually I tried to give the card away here when I thought it was defective. But then I realized it was just being ignored. I just put it back in to keep it safe in my house. But when I get my new Denise chip I will yank it out. Thanks!

Overloading the bus with RAM probably isn't such a good idea for stability/autoconfig purposes. I'd recommend getting rid of the 2052/25000 card and disabling or taking off a few MB from the GVP board. Plus, it'll free up a Zorro slot for some other fun board.
