WOW!  Somebody hit the motherload.  I hate to see it happening being a buyer but I think we will only see more and more of this.  I watch EBay most every day and it has been a long time (months and months) since I have seen one of these external flicker-fixers listed.  If several people have been waiting for months and don't want to wait for months more for another one which may also go for a high price, then hold on to your hats and let the bidding begin.  Look at how much the AmigaOne is going for ($2,400), PPC cards (over $1000), Picasso IV ($400-$500).  You used to get an A4000D (barebones) for $200 or a little more.  Now many go for close to $500.  A4000T's were going for $300 to $400 and now are closer to $1000.  Also, all of these people paying high prices for barebones computers are going to be in the market for the add-ons and have already proven that they are not afraid to spend money.  I don't know if we will ever see new hardware such as PPC cards.  They would have to sell new for $800 to $1000 and we are a community that wants to pay $200.  People like Elbox know this.

I had a dream last night and came up with a solution for these flicker-fixers selling at such a high price and upsetting many people around here.  This solution would help the people desiring a FF and also the people upset and fretting over the high prices.  Here's my solution:  If all of the people here on the Org who have external FF's would all list them on EBay with a starting bid of .99 it would flood the market and the theory of supply and demand would drive the selling prices way down.  Everybody would be happy!!  The people wanting one would get a low fair price and the people selling them would be happy that they aren't selling for insane prices!  Of course you all know where this is going.  Most owners of FF's who use them every day don't want to sell them at any price.  If they did there would be more than 1 on EBay at the moment.  Even the people who wouldn't mind selling high and buying low don't feel like going through the next 6 months, 1 year, 2 year or even longer waiting for the prices to drop.  They want their FF NOW!!  If they use their Amiga every day they don't want to go through a long period of time looking at their screens flicker.  I wouldn't dream of selling my PIV for $900.  To get it you would have to pry it from my cold dead hands!
